Ian’s World

A Bit about Ian and his Adventures

I’m eleven and I’ve got the best job—ever. Me and my best friends Emma Lane and Sebastian Fuentes are members of the Orlando Theme Parks Kids Advisory Board. The theme parks need our help a lot. We tell them what we like and don’t like, but mostly we solve mysteries. It’s a bunch of fun except when bad dudes are after us. A lot of kids want to join the board, but they don’t take just any kid. I earned my place, by solving a mystery on a boat in the spookiest place on earth, the Bermuda Triangle. It’s a whole story by itself.

The Thief in Wolf's Clothing

Eleven-year-old Ian Oakley lost his detective dad in an arrest gone bad. To fill the void in his life, Ian and his two best friends Emma Lane and Sebastian Fuentes form Ian’s Investigators and together they solve crimes and right wrongs. When the Big Bad Wolf mugs Ian’s nana and steals the last gift his father gave him, the Investigators are determined to catch the wolf. The closer they come to identifying the culprit, the more Ian fears the guy wearing the costume is someone they know. If he’s correct, he’s pretty sure unmasking the wolf will ruin a family and destroy a friendship. But in his heart he knows Dad would want him to pursue the truth despite the cost.

The Poisoned Bacon Cupcake

Ian’s mom is on a healthy eating kick, and he’s tired of tofu and tabouli. He fears a future as a vegan and has nightmares about killer tomatoes. He can’t believe his good luck when he and his friends Emma and Sebastian are invited to help Worlds of Darkness theme park test kid-friendly items for its new Gourmet Ghoul Food Festival. But the truth be told Ian’s Investigators are on an undercover assignment to find out who’s playing pranks on the park’s executive chef. Their pursuit of the prankster who turns from pranks to crimes leads Ian to a chilling confrontation in the walk-in freezer in the kitchen for the Dungeon of Doom party room where, armed only with poisoned bacon cupcakes, he faces off with a revenge-seeking chef.

The Bully

Ian’s Investigators, Ian, Emma, and Sebastian, are asked to serve as escorts for Land of Oz theme park’s Kids with Vids contest. Their excitement turns to frustration when they’re paired with their school nemeses and a newcomer, an eighth-grader with a rotten attitude. The contest turns ugly when a supporter of the Take Florida Back movement begins posting anti-Puerto Rican vids on social media. When Sebastian becomes a victim of a hate crime, his mother decides to move the family to San Juan. Ian and Emma don’t want to say goodbye to Sebastian and are determined to find and stop the kid who’s spreading hate. They face a big obstacle. Sebastian knows who attacked him, but refuses to tell.
